RD Ministry releases 100.74 Crores for Rural Road Connectivity in Madhya Pradesh

The Ministry of Rural Development has released grant in aid worth Rs. 100,74,50,000/- (Rupees One Hundred crore Seventy Four Lakh and Fifty Thousand only) as 1st installment of Batch V (Supplementary) under ADB assisted RRSIP to the Madhya Pradesh Rural Roads Development Agency (MPRRDA for the construction of Rural Roads in the State under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana. MPRRDA is an Autonomous Body for receiving funds under PMGSY and is a duly Registered Society under Society Registration Act, towards the projects cleared by Asian Development Bank (ADB).

The grant is towards plan expenditure and will accordingly be subject to the conditions laid down in the guidelines for Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana issued from time to time by the Central Government.

Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana is a 100 % centrally sponsored scheme to provide road connectivity in the rural areas of the country. PMGSY envisages connectivity to all habitations with a population of 500 persons and above in the rural areas and about 250 persons and above in respect of the hill states, tribal areas and desert areas through good and all weather roads.
